Hi,

Our client has requested that they be able to create R/KYV searches via their CMS which will enable them to publish the following on their website:

   1. Starting point for search i.e a class or folder path. Option to say yes/no to searching sub folders of above path.
2. Able to specify which fields of a documents indexing is to be searched on with the option to search all indexed fields. The search will search the documents indexing (as pre defined) as default with yes/no option to search document body (OCR’d text is inserted into the documents xml file).
3. Select what (existing or yet to be created) fields to return i.e doc title, doc date etc. This will probably involve the user simply entering the code for the required field e.g 21 relates to the document subject.
4. Ability to order the results on any field.
5. Ability to change number of results per page.

I've looked through the Web Services API documentation for R/KYV (this document is "RKYV v9.1 Documentation/RKYVConnect Web Services Programmers Manual.pdf") and I can't see any way to search on the repository in the fashion that has been asked for. The closest I can find is the "searchNatural" method but that only accepts 2 parameters:

    * doctypesToSearch - Array of IDs holding the document types to be searched
* searchTerm - String containing the search term

I don't see from that how we'd meet the requirements. Am we missing some documentation or have I missed something? Does searchTerm accept some kind of query language which is documented elsewhere?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks,

Ralph.

I have received an email from Open Text which implies that they would no longer support our installation if I had one of your healthchecks, are you able to provide any advice?

Hello, we have been scanning more and more images in colour, but none of these seem to be being OCR'd. Is there a specific setting that needs to be changed so that the images can be OCR'd?

I've been having issues where the OCR is not reading the characters correctly, for example Notting is being displayed as Netting, this is affecting the results that our users are having and influencing our internal research, is there anything that can be done?

Thanks
